What is it about Sisters?

I don’t have a sister - I’ve got two younger brothers, and its just not the same.

I now have three kids - a boy and two girls (ages 8 and almost 5).  The two girls are the epitome of sisters. They have this amazing bond that allows them to argue, fight, be catty, and icky to each other all day, then magically, as if a switch was thrown, be best of friends come bedtime.  They beg and plead every night to sleep in the same bed. One night this summer, after a particularly trying day, I tucked them in, just to come back a little while later to find them sleeping - holding hands.

My hope for them, is that as they grow up, they continue to fight, argue, and give each other a hard time; but always remain there for each other.

Puzzling

I love puzzles. All puzzles. From my earliest memories, I have been doing puzzles. I have fond memories of doing jigsaw puzzles (especially the circular candy one) with my best friend as a child. The daily crossword puzzle was always a group project at the dinner table when I was growing up and my Mom taught me the secrets to word searches early on.

Now I am a mom and a business owner. My kids and their friends are always asking me to print things out for them to do. They love it when I make word searches out of the names of their classmates. I decided to combine my love of puzzles with my ability to design web sites. I created the web site Printables4Kids to give kids, teachers, and moms more opportunities to print original puzzles.

When we were recently in Europe, I couldn’t wait to get to the airport and pick up my copy of Puzzler magazine.  I am also looking forward to winter so I can get my jigsaw puzzle out for the kids and me to do.

Let’s Get This Party Started!

Welcome to my new blog called Casual Keystrokes. For months I have been blogging on my official company blog called Essential Keystrokes. The topics I write on are geared toward the Web design, marketing and technology audience. Well, I’m hooked and have often wanted to blog on a topic that just doesn’t fit at Essential Keystrokes.  Casual Keystrokes will feature posts on just about anything that is on my mind that day.

I got a little frustrated with Blogger and decided to take full control of my blogs.  I decided to try Word Press on this one and so far, so good! Look for this blog to evolve as I get used to using Word Press and all of its cool features.
