In A Former Life, I Must Have Been…

While chatting with an online pal at MomGadget, animals and our former lives came up. We decided it was a great topic for a BlogCarnival.  So step up to the ticket booth and come on in to our carnival.

Image property of Essentialkeystrokes.com - do not copyStarting with me.  I am convinced that in a former life I must have been a cat. I am extremely independent (sometimes to a fault) and often come off to those who don’t know me as being very aloof.  When it comes to affection, like a cat, it must be on my terms!  I am very loyal to those who treat me well and I have been known to take giant leaps of faith (burning up a few lives in the process).

Grab your virtual cotton candy (no calories) and let’s see who else is at the carnival:

It’s not too late to join our Carnival! Post a comment with a link to your own post on which animal you were in a previous life and I’ll give you a virtual “booth” in our carnival.

Workout Music - What’s On Your iPod?

On Monday nights I have one hour where I have to be at the gym waiting for my daughter to finish workout after I finish teaching.  I have decided to start walking on the treadmill at the back of the gym while I wait. I grabbed my daughter’s iPod and found some fun upbeat songs to walk to.  Here are some of my favorites:

A little teeny-bopperish? Maybe? But it gets your heart pumping and makes the time go by faster. Do you have any suggestions for songs to add for next week’s workout? What are your favorites?

In the Mood for a Change

Okay, I can’t control my haircolor, but I can control my blog!!  I am in the mood for something blue so here we go.  The theme is called Sky3c and I think I’ll give it a spin.

Bear with me while I experiment with the header and tweak the layout a bit.  What do you think? Too blue? Just right? Don’t care?

It’s Only Hair!

This one is for the girls! Without fail, the day I call and schedule a hair appointment my hair looks terrible and the day before the appointment it looks great!!! So off I go to the salon yesterday and decide that all I really need is a trim and my hair coloring needs help because the summer highlights are too grown out and the dark brown and gray hairs are shining through!

I decided that what I wanted was my natural dark brown hair back.  I am rebelling against the trend of blonde highlights - afterall, they just turn orange on my hair anyhow. Well, let’s just say that now my hair is BLACK and I am not happy about it. Why can’t I just find a color I like? Everything is either too dark, too light, or too orange.

I am hoping that by week’s end and lots of washing, it will have faded out enough that I can live with it. I mean, it’s only hair, and it will grow out, but I will just be avoiding mirrors for a few days!

Trinkies - Another Way to Personalize Your Cell Phone

Now that just about everyone has their own cell phone, we’re seeing more products that let them customize their phones. Last week we found Trinkies. Let’s just say they are bling for your “ring.” We got two of them. A cute green shamrock for me and the sparkly pink fairy for my daughter.

Trinkies are like jewelry for your phone’s antennae. Slip them on and off easily and change them out to match your mood, your outfit, or the seasons. You can even make your own custom Trinkies! They can make your own designs into cell phone antenna charm rings. Perfect for school or athletic teams or company promotional items.

We even found another use for them - my daughter and I have identical digital cameras. We figured that we could use the Trinkies to help us keep track of whose phone was whose by slipping the Trinkie through the camera strap.
