July 30, 2007· Filed under Menu Plan Mondays

If you have not tried menu planning yet, I would like to challenge you to do so this week. Actually try it for 3 weeks and you will be amazed at how much smoother the week runs and how much you save on groceries. Each Sunday I take a quick peek in my cabinets and freezer to get a quick idea of what is there and what needs to be used up. Then I take 5 minutes and ask each family member if there is anything specific they want for dinner this week - most requests are honored. Next I grab a sheet of paper and write down the days of the week, fill in the events that I know will affect our dinner plans, add in the requests, then fill in the blanks. The whole process takes me less than 30 minutes and saves me so much time during the week.
Here is my menu for the week:
- Monday - Spaghetti and meatballs
- Tuesday - Shrimp lo-mein
- Wednesday - Hamburgers on the grill and 7 Layer Salad
- Thursday - Shredded taco chicken in the crockpot for tacos or salad
- Friday - Breakfast for dinner - waffles, sausage and fruit

I meant to post this yesterday, but for some reason I was so tired that I went to bed with the kids at 9:30 - that never happens! Here are a few links that are definitely worth visiting this week.
And now a question for you? Would you like to be a guest blogger? As most of you know, I have a bit of a blogging habit and manage more than one blog. I just can’t help myself. Anyhow, there are plenty of opportunities to be a guest blogger at any of my sites - at any time in the future. All you have to do is leave me a comment (or send me an email) and let me know where you’d like to be a guest. I have listed my blogs and some ideas below.
- Essential Keystrokes - Do you have a list of favorite web tools for online success? Or do you have a tech question you would like me to answer?
- Casual Keystrokes - Share your work from home story or life balance tips.
- Sports Girls Play - Does your daughter play a sport? I’d love to get your take on the sport from a parent’s perspective.
- Doll Diaries - I am always looking for pictures of American Girl Dolls, Barbie, MyTwinn, and other collectible dolls. Have you been to American Girl Place? Or any other doll adventures? Feel free to share!
- Raising A Healthy Family - This is a BRAND new blog. Do you have a child with a special health issue? Do you have any tips for staying fit as a family? This one is pretty wide open right now. Even if you aren’t interested in guest blogging, stop over and take a look - I’ve love to know what you think of it.
Have a wonderful week everyone as we say good-bye to the busiest month I have survived this year!

I am ready to put this week behind me - the whole week is a blur. To top it all off, it has been such a draining week that I just haven’t been able to get to writing, visiting or commenting much.
So what have I missed? What’s new? Stop in and chat. Let me know what is new in your world. Did you have a fantastic post on your blog that I missed? If so, share it with us. I’ll be in and out all day so stop in when it is convenient for you.
Thanks to Eliza, Gayla, Laura, Yvonne, AgentSully, Amanda, Ingo, Brown Baron, Angela, Lucy, Jane, Denise and Pickel for stopping in last week.

As I get older I am also getting wiser. I am learning (although slowly) that in order for me to be a successful business woman, mother and wife, I do not have to do it all myself. Doing it all myself does not make me a better person - it just drains me of my life energy!
I am learning to outsource even the most basic tasks so I can have more time and energy to be a great Mom, a better wife, and more efficient in my business.
One of the things I am most excited about outsourcing is the deep cleaning in our house. Let’s face it, I can barely keep up with the dishes and the laundry. I don’t enjoy the nitty gritty cleaning and don’t have the time to do it right. Thanks to my awesome brothers, I have a gift certificate for a cleaning service - it is just the right amount to get me started and get our family hooked!
Here are a bunch of great sites that will help you streamline, organize, and may even inspire you to do some outsourcing yourself:
What are your favorite time savers? What have you outsourced? I’d love to know!

Are you ready for a new week? I am! Birthday season in our house is officially done until September and I am really glad. I’m looking forward to a relatively quiet week.
