You know, I am convinced that there is no such thing as a boring week. We started the week off on Monday with all three kids going off to school, Oh Happy Day! (Wendy gets to experience it today) Tuesday my husband came down with something and has been in bed sick all week. My youngest is having a hard time adjusting to the full day Kindergarten schedule and is like a monster unleashed every night at bedtime. Then to top it off she decided to stick a peanut up her nose while I was driving this evening. Does the drama ever end?
There was good drama, too. I’ve been enjoying my peace and quiet during the day. Four of my blogs had more than 10,000 unique visitors each this month – an all time high, and Casual Keystrokes even had an article featured on the Huffington Post – you know that mega-blog that is the #5 on the Technorati #100?
Anyhow, how was your week? Join us for Casual Friday and let us know. Did the kids go back to school yet? Do you have any plans for the holiday weekend? Any wild kid stories to tell? Everyone is welcome!
Thanks to Eliza, Brown Baron, Brooke, Agent Sully, Ingo, Lynn, Jane, Sharon, Denise, Laura, and MomKnowsEverything for joining the fun last week.

Can you guess what today is? Yep, it is the first day of school. I am now sitting at my desk in my home office listening to … nothing but the gently hum of the dishwasher.
My son started Middle School today and he felt very confident about his schedule, opening his locker and the new independence and responsibility he will be given.
My older daughter started 4th grade with the same teacher my son had for 1st and 4th grades. She is awesome and Miss M is so ready to resume her social butterfly ways.
Little Miss N headed onto the bus with a mix of hesitation and excitement. She is more than ready for Kindergarten but not 100% sure what to expect. She’ll do fine and will be directing the class by the end of the week.
I have been looking forward to this day for 11 years, but am grateful for every day that has passed in between. I am truly grateful that I have been able to work from home so I could be there for all the milestones, tea parties, story times, preschool field trips and all.
What am I going to do with all this uninterrupted time now? Hmmm… I have a stack of work on my desk waiting to be dealt with, I want to paint Miss N’s room, I am going to start walking a few times a week with friends, and I have already been talked into volunteering at the school one morning a week. Something tells me the time will fly by!!

It is back-to-school week! Yipee! While it was nice to have a menu plan all summer long, it is absolutely critical that I have one during the school year.
- Monday - Chicken quesadillas, veggies & dip
- Tuesday - Shrimp stir fried rice
- Wednesday - Baked Ziti, salad, garlic bread
- Thursday – most likely fast food due to scheduling
- Friday – Calzones, salad
