We certainly got a taste of fall this past weekend and it was beautiful! It puts me in the mood for soup.
- Monday - Pizza, veggies and dip
- Tuesday- Chicken pot pie
- Wednesday - Hamburgers on the grill, baked potato, veggies
- Thursday - Loaded Baked Potato soup
- Friday - Teriyaki chicken skewers, rice, salad
Yesterday we celebrated some family birthdays and I needed to make an ice cream cake. I was short on time and it ended up being a blessing in disguise. The ice cream cake was made out of Klondike bars and whipped cream - it was the world’s easiest ice cream cake. I wrote a whole post on the how to’s at Weary Parent - check it out - complete with pictures.

Thank goodness it is Friday! I am so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning. This 6am wake up is for the birds.
In the meantime, we all have to finish out this week, so why don’t we have some fun. LOLCATS are everywhere and I just found a picture of one of our cats that needs a caption. I have one in mind but I am going to let you all take a shot at it first. So, leave a comment, give it a caption, and let us know how your week has been.

Thanks to BusyMom, Randa, DevDad, Eliza, Yvonne, Neena, Gayla, Brooke, Laura, Lara, InspirationBit, BrownBaron, AgentSully, SuperMom, Shannon and WG for joining the fun last week.
PS - Don’t forget to enter giveaway #2 for the month - a gift certificate for Emily Rose.

Wendy, from eMoms at Home, has been busy - and I mean really busy! She has gone from having one awesome blog on internet home businesses for moms and dads, to having a whole magazine-style site complete with 6 new blogs plus the original eMoms blog.
New to the line up are:
And the original eMoms at Home blog is staying put. The “Original Recipe eMoms at Home†will always be there to talk about affiliate marketing, parenting, blogging, social media, empowerment, and everything else that her regular readers have come to know and love.
Take a few minutes this week and go check out the new sites. I have already added a few of them to my daily reads.

It’s time for another giveaway! As I announced in my Wordless Wednesday post, American Girl debuted two new dolls this week. Julie, Ivy and their stories are set in the 1970s - which means they are from the era that most of us are from. Lisa from Emily Rose Doll Clothes has offered to sponsor our next giveaway - a $25 gift certificate to her store, which is full of beautiful outfits, furniture and accessories for American Girl dolls and other 18″ dolls.
Here are two outfits that would be perfect for Julie:

Anyhow, the winner of the gift certificate can use it for anything in the Emily Rose Doll Clothes store. If you have a daughter, grandaughter or niece, she will love all of the outfits and doll goodies at Emily Rose. Or you can think about it as a way to jump start your Christmas shopping.
You know the drill. Enter by leaving a comment on this post. That will give you one entry. If you have a blog of your own, post about the giveaway with a link to this post and the Emily Rose Doll Clothes site or to her new blog, Raising an American Girl (customized by yours truly) for a bonus entry. And if you are really doll crazy, link to my Doll Diaries site, too for another bonus entry.
The deadline for entries is Tuesday, September 18 at 12 midnight. A winner will be selected at random and announced here on Wednesday, September 19.
