See you tomorrow for another fun Casual Friday giveaway…

Many of you have already met Jake, the cat we rescued 7 years ago when we brought him home from the shelter, eye infection and all. Yesterday we got a call from the neighbor saying that they had found Jake in their yard, curled up and peaceful. Jake had passed away and was in kitty heaven. My girls were crushed, after all, Jake was their best pal. Jake played on the swings with them, let them tote him around, and was the friendliest cat ever.
And while there is definitely an air of sadness, Jake was loved and had a really good kitty life - at least after we rescued him.
More Wordless Wednesdays.
Normally by this time on a Monday I have already made my to-do list and have posted both my Monday Motivation and my Menu Plan Monday posts, but not today. This past weekend was consumed by a gymnastics meet that the club I teach at was hosting (we rocked, by the way - yeah) and then this morning I helped serve a Thanksgiving Feast to more than 100 cutie-patootie Kindergartners at my kids’ school. And I now have less than two hours before I go get the kids from school and head to the gym for gymnastics practice.
Somedays you just have to lower your expectations in order to get anything accomplished. Rather than posting a huge long list of tasks I need to do, I will just pick a few that I know I can handle and then I will cut myself some slack. Afterall, as Wendy says today in her MM post, “this is why I work from home.” The flexibility is the best part.
Today I will:
As for the rest of the week - I am going to try to get a few posts ready to automatically post later, get ready to host Thanksgiving dinner, and get caught up on a few things around the house.
How about you? What are your goals for the week? Are you mentally ready for the holidays or no? Share it in the comments, or be bold and put it on your own site for all the world to read. (Just like WAH(web)Mommy has done)
UPDATE!! Congratulations Lorna of - eMoms at Home Freelance Parent - you are the winner of the WordPress for Dummies book!!Â
It’s been a very busy week, project-wise, and if it weren’t for WordPress - my absolute favorite platform for blogging and CMS, I’d probably be in the nut house by now. From updating themes and ad campaigns to building a full website for a client that doesn’t act like a blog, WordPress has been there for me this week. And it just so happens, that WordPress is the reason behind today’s Friday Giveaway.
Lisa Sabin-Wilson is not only the talented designer behind eWebscapes.com, she is also the author of a great new book called WordPress For Dummies. Her new book delivers just what would-be bloggers need to get up and running with WordPress and start communicating with the world. Includes help on every aspect of installing and using WordPress, illustrations from real-world WP blogs, step-by-step tutorials on key topics, and insights from bloggers who use WordPress.
But it is not just for people thinking about blogging. WordPress For Dummies is an essential reference for bloggers who are new to WordPress and even the intermediate/advanced user. For example, discover how to:
Lisa has offered to giveaway a SIGNED copy of her book to one lucky Casual Keystrokes reader.
Entering to win is EASY - we are going to be talking about WordPress today. Leave a comment on which blogging platform you use and why, or ask a WordPress question, or tell us why you love WordPress, or anything else you want to talk about.
Each relevant comment you leave (no spamming please) will garner you one entry. Blog about Lisa’s book or this contest and you get another 2 entries.
You have until midnight EST on Sunday, November 25 to join in the conversation.
You can read more about the book at Lisa’s personal blog, Just a Girl in the World and if you just can’t wait for the contest to be over, you can order the book through Amazon or pick it up at your local bookstore.
I’m feeling rather stressed today! Too many deadlines, too little time. Kristen at MyStarbucks has come to my rescue though - she shared some virtual bubble wrap with me and I’m feeling much better already.
You know you want to try it… Get your own sheet of virtual bubble wrap!!
