Merry Christmas a few days early everyone! As you can tell my the amount I have posted here this week, I have been a bit busy. Well, actually I had my youngest home for a solid week with the ickiest cold ever. Luckily she is back to health and at school today. Between that and getting ready for the holidays it has been crazy.
Today I want to take a few moments and thank all of my Casual Friday buddies for stopping in every Friday (more or less). I really look forward to Fridays - especially for the conversation!
So, how is your holiday preparation coming along? Shopping done? Wrapping done? Baking done? I’m basically done shopping, half way done wrapping and have done no baking yet (and may not do any).
Stop in anytime and join the conversation! Bring a link to your favorite holiday post while you are at it!
I am thanking my lucky stars that I did 90% of my shopping on line and in advance this year, because I have been trapped in this house with a sick child since last Thursday. I have a mere handful of little gifts left to pick up but if little Miss doesn’t get healthy and quick, I am going to have to resort to some faithful standbys - last minute online gifts!
If you are finding yourself in the same situation, fear not!
Of course, there are still plenty of online retailers who will guarantee your gift will get there on time - but you may have to pay high shipping fees. Let’s just hope that my Cabin Fever days will be over soon.
Happy Friday everyone! My original plan today was to drop the kids off at school and head to the mall to finish up some final Christmas shopping then come home and do all my wrapping, BUT as always happens with best laid plans, I have a child home sick. Actually, she is home for the second day in a row with a terrible case of pinkeye. ICK! Instead, I will stay home a work, chat with my Friday morning blog pals, try to stay sane and maybe even get the family Christmas letter done.
I have another giveaway planned, but I’ll announce it later today. It’s a fun one that is great for the kids or teachers.
Last week’s Virtual Cookie Swap was fun! Lots of yummy recipes shared, too. Thanks to Eliza, DeafMom, Gayla, Jane, Lucy, Randa, Tiff, Linette, and MyStarbucks for joining in the fun last week.
So, how is your week going? Are the holiday plans falling into place or falling apart?
So I get to work from home in my slippers, that doesn’t mean my office doesn’t want to be chic!! Every year my family asks what I want for the holidays and every year they seem a bit astonished that I want stuff for my home office - after all, it is where I spend so much of my time!!
Here some items I have on my list this year:
See Jane Work - Okay Santa - anything from See Jane Work will be just fine with me. How about some yummy Pepper Pot file folders, desktop files, or an Internet Notes black book?
TheGreenOffice.com - I love the tree-free stationery - the Harvest Collection is so nice.
My laptop needs some spunk!! I would love a Pacific Design Kailo Chic Laptop Sleeve or a cool laptop skin (I could design my own) from Schtickers.
I am determined to get even more organized in the new year so a new Brother PT-1880 Advanced Deluxe Labeler for Home & Office would be very welcome.
How about some new essentials like the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop (keyboard and mouse) or an ergonomic 3M Gel Wrist Support.
We don’t live very close to a Starbucks or coffee shop and I love to start my day with a perfect cup of coffee. A few years ago, my husband gave me the Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System and it makes the BEST coffee ever. More of the Newman’s Own Organics Extra Bold Special Blend, K-Cups would always be welcome, too.
Do you work from home? What is on your wish list?
