Show Your Support and Go Pink for October

Pink for OctoberOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness month and web sites all over the world, like this one, will be going pink to show their support and help bring awareness to the cause.

It really isn’t difficult to get your site ready to go pink. Here are a few ideas:

  • Change out your header.
  • Change your background (need a quick tutorial on how to?)
  • Change the colors of your headers or links.
  • Add a Pink for October badge to your sidebar

Visit Pink for October and get more inspiration, information, and get a badge of your own.

I Think I Have A Thing For Red

Red planner, wallet, phone

What does this photo say about me? Am I in constant state of crisis? Can I not find anything? OR do I just have a thing for red???

Anyhow, I am beginning to see a trend – especially since two of the three shirts I have bought in the past week are red and I almost bought a “to die for” Dooney & Bourke red suede “Fredrica” purse/bag last week! I think I am addicted.

When my new red faux croc momAgenda arrived yesterday I was in heaven – that thing is a work of beauty and is filled to the brim with all the organizational pages, pockets and such to keep the family and me on track. The wallet is a red leather Fossil one I got for a song at Belk this summer thanks to one of their amazing coupon sales. And the phone case is a Sena Leather case for my Treo.

And while we are on the topic of red – have you seen this pretty number that HP is bringing out this spring – just gorgeous!

Are you addicted to a color or if nothing else, find yourself hopelessly drawn to one in particular? If so, commiserate with me!

Win a momAgenda Desktop Planner

momAgenda get organized with styleIt’s no secret that I love my momAgenda planners – I have sung their praises before (can you say sanity saver) – and I proudly advertise their products on my sidebar. They are that good. As a busy mom who juggles 3 kids’ sports and school schedules, my own business, and our family schedule, the momAgenda planners and organizational tools are created with me in mind – I’m sure of it.

I am in the process of picking out a new one for the upcoming year and you are invited to help me pick one out – and you can win a desktop planner of your own too. Then you can be organized in style!  Go over to my other writing haunt, Weary Parent, and enter to win!

The Butterfly Room

About 10 years ago we split a large bedroom in our house into 2 bedroom’s to accomodate the arrival of our second child – a girl. Of course the room had to be pink and white, and for the past 10 years it has been. Since we made that room into the nursery, my son moved to a larger room on the other side of the house, our almost 10 year old took over his old room (you can see her Bombay Kids Betsy room here), and our youngest who is now 6 has been the occupant of the pink room.

Girls room before photo

Our 6 year old is pretty creative and very opinionated. She was adamant that her room would not be pink and it would instead be green. She has been on my case to get her room repainted for about 3 years and finally wore me down last week. I bought the wallpaper border and had the green in the border matched to custom paint. I have spent all weekend working on the room and the bulk of it is now done.

Butterfly and green girls bedroom redecorated

What do you think? The whole thing has cost me less than $100 to do. The wallpaper border was pretty inexpensive – only $7 a roll and I only needed 3 rolls. One gallon of green paint and one quart of white trim paint. The butterfly comforter is one we had on my other daughter’s bed before we redecorated her room and it was on clearance then.

Once I get all of her furniture back in the room, I will probably add a few more finishing touches – especially on the big wall next to her bed. If nothing else, I can say this has been a pretty productive weekend.
