My just-turned-5 year old goes to preschool every afternoon from 1-4. Some of the funniest moments with this character happen in the car on the way to school. Based on her antics in the car today, I am guessing it must be Wacky Wednesday!
So we are pulling out of the neighborhood and listening to Little Richard’s version of Itsy Bitsy Spider on Radio Disney. I’m in a silly mood and start singing. I hear a voice from the back seat saying very firmly, “Mom, your hurting my ears. Stop singing.” I turn around to say something back to her and she is wearing SWIMMING GOGGLES. It is two degrees above freezing today and she is sitting there with this serious look on her face and blue swimming goggles. Of course, I start laughing and want to take a picture with my phone, but couldn’t get any cooperation.
Some days I just wonder… Anything funny overheard in your world today? Please share.

I LOVE funny kid stories. Today my almost 2 year old walked into the kitchen where I was heating up some stew for lunch. She sniffed the air and said “mmm…smells dewicious!”
My 12 year old told me the other day “I love you….but not just because you got me Heelys for Christmas”

Annabeth is doing this thing at the moment (usually at least once a day). For example:
I’m in the bath. Beth comes in. “Oh, Daddy needs a little bit of privacy at the moment.”
She puts her finger on her chin, and casts her eyes up in a thoughtful pose. “Hmmmm. I’m ‘hinking about ‘hat.”
(The link with my name has a few more Bethy classics.)

I have a 9 year old and she is not even wanting to be around us as the moment…LOL….and a 1 year old that beats on things…he does however take his new table and chairs that Santa brought him and turns the table upside down and sits in the middle of the table….that’s as funny as it gets at my home right now…although I love the swimming goggles…..

I love all these stories. Keep sharing.
Courtney & jen - my 8 year old is mad at me because I won’t buy her Heeleys.
Rory - I’ll have to go check your stories - privacy is a big issue here too.

Hey y’all–what are Heeleys?
Char wrote @ January 11th, 2007 at 12:20 pm
V - don’t get me started on those horrible things! Heeley’s are tennis shoes with wheels built in the heels. Kind of like a cross between tennis shoes and rollerblades. They have been banned at school. They are dangerous, annoying, and my kids are mad because I won’t buy them.

One day, I was bathing Clayton and he slipped and fell on the bath tub. He got frightened and said ‘Come out, come out’. i apologised and said, ‘Soon’. Then he said ‘Car-ful, Car-ful’… it was funny.

Doris - Some of the best moments are from those years where they are just starting to master language and develop their own thoughts.
