· Filed under Casual Friday, Contests
Last night when we went into town for gymnastics and ice hockey practice, the first thing my kids noticed is that about half of the shopping centers had already started decorating for the holidays. I guess it is time to starting getting my brain around the whole holiday thing - although in light of all the recent recalls I am just not really excited about the shopping part. The decorating part is one of my favorite things though, and I love ornaments.
Today’s Casual Friday giveaway is cool in two ways. First it will give you something special for your Christmas tree, window, or to give as a gift. Second, the sponsor of today’s giveaway, FeeFiFoto, was the winner of last week’s giveaway.
This week’s sponsor, FeeFiFoto, is giving away a gorgeous Personalized Photo Snowflake Ornament to one lucky winner! The delicate white snowflake ornament is made of excellent quality porcelain. Ornament is approximately 4″ wide.
It’s simple to create your own one of a kind ornament with FeeFiFoto. Simply upload your favorite photo to FeeFiFoto and see your design in progress as you crop or move you photo. You can even add a caption.
The lucky winner of today’s giveaway will get to create a one of a kind Personalized Photo Snowflake Ornament.
Entering to win is easy. Leave a comment on this post no later than midnight Sunday, November 11 and a winner will be randomly selected on Monday.
Everyone is welcome to join the conversation this morning. Have you noticed the holiday decorations going up around your town? When do you decorate - before Thanksgiving, right afterwards or at the last possible moment? And of course, we always seem to end up talking about our weekend plans, movies, kids and whatever else is on your mind! Let’s get talking!
UPDATE!! We are happy to announce that Dee at comment #168 is the winner! Enjoy!! Be sure to stop back in next Friday for another giveaway.

Good morning! I’ve been getting in the mood for a few days now — I’ve actually got just about all my shopping done. I started early this year because I knew a much tighter budget was going to be had in the heart of winter.
Decorating? I’ve always been one to decorate as soon after Thanksgiving as I can. If I can work it in the afternoon/evening of Thanksgiving, I do.
I love the tree, I love the lights and I love the peaceful feeling that Christmas brings, even if it is a false sense of peace. It’s one of those little escapes I think we can all use.
As for this weekend, hubby and I are going to celebrate our wedding anniversary this weekend. It’s actually on the 15th. We’re going to play the farmer card this weekend and attend the Ohio Nationals poultry show. A few years ago, I would have NEVER believed I’d be attending a chicken show for my anniversary. I guess this year hubby is staking his claim on his half of the marriage. I do get to get a nice dinner out of the deal though
BTW I LOVE The new header Char. It’s so pretty and colorful

I agree with Gayla! I love the Christmas season. It comes and goes so quickly. For some reason this year I am even more anxious to get started but will hold back until after our Thanksgiving PA trip.
We go to a tree farm and cut our own tree. My family puts up with me because it takes me f-o-r-e-v-e-r to find the perfect tree. My 8 and 11 year old just want the hot chocolate and Christmas cake they give them when we leave.
I would love to have the personalized ornament to add to my tree. Maybe it could hold a picture of a very special friend and myself….Char?
Have a great day!

One of my favorite traditions in my house is to get a yearly ornament, indicating one of the most important things you did that year. We have done this since we were born and when we married and left the home my parents gave us own own starter tree with all of our ornaments. We have started this with our child and he loves getting a new ornament each year.
He also gets one Santa Bell because he is a huge fan of the polar express. And, we also have a Pickel ornament tree…because we have to.

I love the Christmas season. I usually start decorating Thanksgiving week, but I never have my shopping done until the last minute. I love Christmas music, I’ve been trying not to start listening to it too soon, Trans Siberian Orchestra’s my favorite. I think I may have to break out the CD soon.

I love the Christmas season….seems like people are in better spirits during this time of year. I love decorating after Thanksgiving, usually making it a family tradition for my kids and grandkids to decorate the tree using our special box of mixed and homemade ornaments. I am so thankful this year because all of my kids will be here for Thanksgiving and decorating the tree will be really special. I don’t have all of my shopping done yet but have already started.

Hey everyone. I love this time of year. September all the way through to the New Year. I decorate for Xmas after Turkey Dat. All except for the outdoor lights. I think we may be doing that this weekend. Decorating in 50 degrees is way better than 30 or 0.

I actually blogged about the recalls on Work From Home Momma today. Is it just me, or are they getting a little bit overwhelming?
Although I love this time of year I know how hard it can be when there are families with children who are not going to have much whether it be a job loss or just a family situation. I remember when we were in the same situation and my heart would break when our little ones would look at all the decorations and toys with all the awe and hope in the world. I always promised myself that when times were better I would do everything I could to help those who were in the situation we once were. Ever since then the holidays are so much brighter as I know our family is going to make sure other families enjoy the holidays in every way possible. We buy trees near the first of the December and through lists we deliver them and ornaments to families who could not afford to buy them. We also bring them things to decorate their homes and if we know they do not have a cd player we buy one along with some holiday cds. We bake dozens of cookies, buy tons of candies and start making holiday boxes. We also start to go through all the ads in the paper and finding toys which we can afford. This season is so much fun now and this year will be the best as our daughter will be home from Afghanistan where she has been stationed for a year with the Army!

I’ve noticed the houses in my neighborhood have their Christmas lights up already. Last year, they weren’t up till Thanksgiving week.
And that snowflake ornament…that’s too cute! I would so love to win one. I’d make it with my niece’s wedding picture. I think she and her hubby would love it.

What great responses everyone! I just got back from being in an all day meeting and am now getting caught up.
I like to decorate over the course of a few days after Thanksgiving. I love the way the house looks and feels when its decorated so I want to enjoy it all month.
What a great idea! I could get one of my puppy!
i like to do it for the month
I’ve already started decorating my home! I go all out…even the bathrooms. I have 2 trees! I spend all year “collecting” little treasures for everyone. I revel in every minute of the season!
Too cute!! I would love to add it to my collection!
My son who is 18 is leaving for the service in January. This will be our last Christmas together for a while and so we are trying to do it up as much as possible. I would love to win this to put his picture in wearing his uniform.
Marilyn wrote @ November 9th, 2007 at 6:05 pm
The shopping center down the street from us is lighting their outside Christmas tree tonight! There will be singing and discounts for all the holiday shoppers. It gets earlier every year!
We usually decorate a few days before Thanksgiving. Dh’s family lives in another state. They try to come for a visit at Thanksgiving and we have our Christmas with them while they are here.
This year we have a new baby and all of his gear. (How in the world does someone so little need so much stuff?) Plus, four people will be staying at our house for a week. Add to that 17 people coming over for Thanksgiving. I think the tree would get in the way so this year we will have to break tradition. The tree will have to wait until after Thanksgiving. My other 3 kids are disappointed, but they understand. We may still get out a few decorations to make things look festive.
Cool idea for an ornament. Thanks for the giveaway
My grandson would look so adorable in this frame.

I love it when the neighborhood decorates for the holidays, it makes walking the dog in the cold a lot easier. Some houses around here still have Halloween decorations up, in a week or two I will decorate for Xmas!

First hello and Happy Friday, I actually haven’t got my link to your site up yet today. Busy, busy. Oh and I’m doing another giveaway too.
As for decorations I haven’t seen any YET, normally we do them the day after Thanksgiving. Course I’m the type that takes it down the day after Christmas….well after all those sales that is.
Movies this week:
1408- pretty scary
Evan Almighty- Husband rented thinking I hadn’t seen it, which was fine since I love the movie.
Deck the Halls- Funny but not as cute as I had hoped. But it did put me in the holiday spirit a bit more.
Chuck & Larry- Very funny, will even buy it. NOT for kids.
Ratatouille(sp)- Yes we watched it in theaters but the kids loved it so we rented it.
please enter me thanks
cute prize
Maybe I’m a scrooge, but I really hate to see Christmas decorations up even before Halloween. It used to start after Thanksgiving when I was a kid, but now it starts so early that I’m tired of seeing everything by the time Christmas comes around.
A lot of houses in my neighborhood have put up Christmas decorations. They look great too. I think I’ll wait a little bit. I don’t want to send my kids into a frenzy hehe.
This ornament would look great with my kids in it! You gotta love Christmas!
sure would like have this

Hi! The snowflake will be a symbolic for me this winter. Here in East Tennessee we have had drought conditions worse than over 100 years ago. We didn’t get much rain this year. I hope we will get snow! We need it! Thanks!

This is perfect! My family pick ornaments every year when Christmas shopping & we add them to our tree as a family tradition. Thanks for such a wonderful giveaway!

It depends on how much holiday entertaining we’re going to do. If it’s a big year for parties then the decorating starts a little before T-giving. We need to move lots of stuff out to fit new tacky Xmas crap in (don’t get me wrong, I LOVE tacky xmas crap).
This year, we’re taking it easy. We’re only putting up one tree - the aluminum pom pom (like I said - tacky Xmas crap).
I would put my youngest grandchilds picture in this frame, I have all my other grandchildren in bell frames and put them on the tree each year.
I LOVE IT!!!
this would be great for my new grandbaby.
Please enter me - thanks!
Thanks for the contest. We just finished our shopping for the holidays this past weekend. In two weeks, right before Thanksgiving, we start with the outdoor lights and Thanksgiving weekend we put up our trees. Yes I said tree’s. We put up two. One the kids put up and decorate themselves and the other the family does together.
Thanks again and Happy Holidays.
The ornament is so beautiful as I love snowflakes anyway. My two little granddaughters picture would be so delightful in it.
Merry Christmas.

I love decorating for christmas it’s my favorite time of year. I am ready but I don’t usually start till the thanksgiving weekend
I have been collecting Christmas ornaments for most of my life. My family can’t stand listening to my stories each year when we decorate the tree. I would love to add another memory to my tree this year and bore my family to death about the year I won an ornament. Seriously, I have two beautiful children and would love to catch their beautiful smiles in a Christmas memory ornament.
We generally start somewhere after Thanksgiving depending on how much time we have free. It takes awhile because we go all out.
I don’t decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving!
I start decorating on Thanksgiving day.. putting up our HUGE artificial tree takes WAY too much work to wait until the last minute to start decorating. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas decorations and decorating with my daughter is so much fun so I’m actually looking forward to it.

Hi Newbie here,
First, thank for the neat sweep, please enter me.
The holiday decorating madness has indeed begun. My neighbor always tries to beat me everywhere, she think I started already, but all the boxes are a belated spring cleaning hee hee, so she’ll probably spend this weekend putting up her tree. I think that whole one up thing is just silly. I plan to enjoy myself.
I’m giving the house a thorough cleaning and purging stuff I don’t want or need. Then I’m going shopping for gifts.
Sunday it’s church and no house cleaning, day of rest you know?
If I win, it’s a pic of me and mom going in it for sure. Every year we go to the holiday of lights festival at the zoo. So the picture we take this year will be the one I use.
Have a super weekend everyone!
This would be an ideal addition for my Christmas decoration collection.

Very cute ornament, I’d love this on our one of many trees
What a wonderful means this would be to immortalize my dearly departed Sheltie, Shelbie Lynne September, who passed away in August. This would be a perfect addition to my ornament collection.
I think the stores start way too early - before Halloween is over! I’ll start decorating the day after Thanksgiving.
Wendy wrote @ November 10th, 2007 at 6:57 am
I love the Christmas season. One of our local stations has been playing holiday music since just after Halloween. The weather has turned colder and the stores are decked out. My shopping is pretty much done. I don’t have a lot of money to spend and, thankfully, few people to buy for. I would love this ornament. My late Mom started a tradition of one new ornament a year. I haven’t bought a new ornament the past two years. This would be a lovely addition to our tree - which is going up tomorrow.
Happy Holidays to all.
Christmas is coming to soon in my area. In fact, next weekend Santa arrives at our local mall. To me this is just to early. I love Christmas as much as the next guy, I just like time to enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving first.
By the way, the snowflake ornament is really pretty. It would make a nice addition to my tree when we put it up (about a week or two before Christmas)
I just moved from Tennessee to Idaho. I can’t wait to see snow. Just hope that I don’t get sick of it, because I don’t think that it is going anywhere.
will look very festive for the holidays

I love Christmas, and I am planning to make the recent tainted toys scare an opportunity rather than a downer. It is a great time to not fight germs and crowds in malls at shopping time; it is time for me to create a holiday that emphasizes warmth and love, not things. I plan to give my credit cards a big rest and embrace my family while reflecting on all that I already own.
I won’t decorate until after Thanksgiving - I once put my tree up the first weekend of November and by the time Christmas and New Year’s was over I was kind of sick and tired of looking at it. Please enter me!
I love and want this!

Christmas is my favorite time of year. Visits with people you don’t see but once or twice a year, awesome food (with no guilt!), friends, family and the look on your children’s faces when they come down the stairs and see the Christmas morning tree! I hope everyone has a totally awesome Christmas season this year!

Very cute ornament!
Christmas Eve is so special as it is the time when we gather as immediate family following the children’s program. It is a close, intimate time -= a time of love and thanksgiving. Christmas Day is a time of noise, rambuctiousness, lots of people, lots of food. It is so special to be able to celebrate Christ’s birth with those we love.
What a cute ornament. We got married on 07/07, so this will be our first married Christmas together. What a great way to mark it.

I would love to win this ornament. I don’t really have too many personalized ornaments these days so it would be really great if I could win it and maybe put a newer photo of family members on the tree.
My lines from my second grade Christmas play: “Christmas is a gift. It’s seeking the right gift to give. It’s wrapping it in paper bright, tied with a Christmas bow…wrapping it in love for Christmas Day.”

We really have a dilemma now that our kids our grown, and there are grandchildren! Our daughter lives 2 1/2 hours away, and we always enjoyed spending Christmas with them, but now that my oldest little granddaughter has opinions of her own…she wants to come up to our house, like she did when she was an infant. On the other hand, our son and girlfriend have just built a beautiful new home, and there’s more room for guests, so my daughter and family may come up and stay there and just visit our house to see the tree. We have no idea where dinner will be held, everything is so up in the air! It was so easy when our kids were little, and we spent the day at my parent’s home.
So…..decorating is the last thing on my mind! Looking forward to how this all ends up though!
These ornaments would be lovely to give to my son, because he truly has none for his tree!

I usually decorate Thanksgiving weekend… I love having the tree up and all of the decorations around. Of course, for the last several years my husband and I have traveled to family for Christmas, so the decorating is always a little anti-climactic (I have been decorating a little four feet tree rather than a full size one). I do, however, love to sit in the dark with just the tree lit up and let my eyes dance from ornament to ornament!
Love the prize…great addition to my snowflake decorations.
I’d like to have my kids’ picture in this for my Mom. She’s in a nursing home, and there’s no room for a tree in her room, but this could go on the bulletin board near her bed.
I would love this for my desk at work
I love decorating for Christmas. This will be a nice addition to my collection.
Great contest! Thanks.

What a cute snowflake photo ornament. I have decorated early, and I have decorated as late as three days before.. Im going to try and be early this year.
This would be nice, I remember this woman at a yardsale giving me a Christmas ornament for free, I couldn’t look away from it and I am eternally grateful, it still hangs on the tree after all these years.
These ornaments are very nice.Great for getting in the Christmas spirit.

I love Christmas and everything about it - with the exception of the commercialization of it. I still have homemade ornaments from our first Christmas together and they hold such special memories for us. Please count me in.
thanks and God bless,
Briggie

would be a great gift for my mom
Photo keepsakes are wanted for reality checks; It seems like yesterday that my teenagers were babies.

Very cute ornament! I start decorating a few weeks before Christmas.
I would love to win this, this is my husbands first christmas without his mother (she passed away Aug. 1st.) I would love to get him an ornament with her picture to show she was still celebrating the holidays with us.
thank you.
I am a Christian who reads the Bible daily, attend chruch weekly and really try to live my faith by doing for others all the time. I love Jesus but do not like the Christmas season as it seems to have nothing to do with honoring our Lord. The only thing that seems good is people become more generous with the needy. I am ususally exhausted by the end of it and depressed.
