Oh I’d definitely have to say the thought that is behind the gift. I especially love the thought that the kids put into purchasing gifts for me. Most of the time they crack me up but I wouldn’t trade them for the world!
Neena wrote @ November 30th, 2007 at 2:02 am
My perfect gift is a day home alone. It doesn’t happen often but I can be most productive when I am by myself. I then have time to relax when the family is around.
Count me in Char!
I sent a request for a sample the last time you posted about it. I never got it. My daughter got hers though. Weird.
Char wrote @ November 30th, 2007 at 7:46 am
Laura - kids can come up with some pretty good ideas.
Neena - That sounds like a perfect day to me too.
Laura W - Definitely request another sample. Mine arrived just fine too and the lotion was so rich.

I got this sample and not only did it help but it smelled so good. I got two samples but one must’ve exploded in the envelope. I’d love to win this one. Happy Friday!! Still haven’t shopped and it was a LONG week.

The thought and creativity put into a gift is the greatest for me. It’s also great when obvious hints are thrown around and the giver picked up on such hints and carried through.

This would make a perfect gift for my next door neighbor. She is a single mom of a 15 year old daughter and she works two jobs. It would be wonderful to give her some pampering supplies.
The perfect gift would be one that fulfills a desire that perhaps I only mentioned in passing, not expecting to receive it as a gift. This happened to me twice last year and was so special!
Thank you for the chance to win this prize.
homemom3 wrote @ November 30th, 2007 at 1:22 pm

A complete day of pampering would be a wonderful gift.

The best gifts are when the giver actually thinks about what the recipient WANTS, not what the giver likes, wants themselves, or THINKS the recipient NEEDS.
Also, the best gifts come when the person didn’t ask you what you want, they just remembered your likes and dislikes and took the time to pick something out special.
I’m super stressed at the moment, so I’m wishing for a vacation as a holiday gift!
Would love this for the women in my life, maybe some use by me.
Nice.
I have started shopping early this year… for once! The best gifts I have received recently and could still get is the gift of time. With three kids under five, including twin toddlers, I rarely get any “me time” and that is usually spent running errands. I would appreciate a long date with the hubby, or just browsing in a bookstore, reading in the coffeehouse. That would be the ultimate luxury gift for me. But that gift basket would be nice too! hee hee hee
Melissa wrote @ November 30th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
My perfect gift would be to have my entire family present to sit around and watch the lit tree on Christmas Eve. Since that isn’t possible I will settle for a picture from each of my family members. My week was great - I got engaged!

The perfect gift is one that you get because you love someone very much, not a gift you give because you are expected to. Such a gift is bound to be the perfect one for the recipient, and you will have great pleasure giving it.
Hope I win!

Hello, The Christmas gift most ingrained in my mind/heart is when I got my “Chatty Cathy” doll from my mom and dad! We weren’t poor, but the only time my parents used credit ( at Montgomery Ward ), was to buy us 3 children Christmas gifts. I think that gifts I know people picked from their heart for me are the most special ones of all…..Thanks,Cindi
great prize

The perfect gift for me is one where the giver engages the heart and mind of the recipient. My daughter is a grad student in research, while raising four busy little boys with her husband. A couple of times a year, I send her a “spoil-yourself” gift basket filled with personal care and hair care products, and always a new novel and a candle. She says it’s like receiving a hug in her mailbox. LOVE my girl!

My favorite gift ever was a memory book from my aunt - it contained photos of my family that I had never seen. It was so thoughtful of her to compile that.
My favorite gift i would have to say would be my wedding ring
My week is going great, tommorow were going and getting a christmas tree! I am excited!
what makes the perfect gift to me is when I am able to get the one special thing that my child has asked for (from santa of course), that’s what makes the holiday fun for me. I remember waking on christmas morning to see if Santa would leave the special thing at the top of my list. I am just as thrilled to see the smile on my own childrens faces.
yes i would love this one
For me the perfect gift is one that someone has taken time to pick out or to make.

I think that a perfect gift is one that is given with great thought and will be loved by the person getting it. One of the perfect gifts that I received is a pot rack that I really needed for our new house.
Being together with my family all in one place is the best gift of all. My favorite memory of a childhood perfect gift was when I got my Barbie Dream House. I ran to the tree one Christmas morning and there it was all set up with barbie and ken on the balcony, it was so awesome!
The perfect gift nutures the heart and the spirit. so many people give gift cards. to me that says ‘look I know I should give you a gift but I don’t know enough about you to get you something that you would like and besides I’m too busy to care.” My favorite gifts were always the ones my boys would make with their own hands. I will treasure them always.
I love gift basket they are so much fun to go through and enjoy and this one sounds great!
This is fantastic A spa day after the hectic pace of Christmas shopping WIth 7 children and 14 soon to be 15 grandkids I am worn out and not done yet My perfect gift is still having my husband after 2 different cancers this year I am very greatful and blessed
Funny I should see this contest. My daughter-in-law is in the USAF and is starting off a five-day stretch of 12 hour days. My son was talking about finding a way to help her through it, and something like this would be perfect for the next time she has to work these kinds of shifts.
Y Huff wrote @ December 1st, 2007 at 8:49 am
My daughter would absolutely love this
I had a pretty good week, only worked 3 days and am relaxing, preparing my house for the upcoming Christmas holidays. That gift basket is sweet and so are you for offeting such a lovely prize.
The perfect gift is something that I know the giver would love to have kept for themselves.
I always like to try new products. The basket would make a wonderful present for my lovely daughter-in-law to be.

my favorite gift would be…all arranged and thought up by dh. But would include something like the following:
kids being babysat overnight by grandma in our home
dh and I go out to some cool event like the ballet or a theatrical play
go out to dinner
stay overnight in a nice hotel
May not sound like such a big thing - the emphasis is on dh planning and arranging everything
This would make a great gift!

I think the perfect gifts, the most memorable ones are those that are handmade just for me. That said - a basket full of spa style goodies is also great!
the perfect gift is when you think about the person and just know what specific items would make them happy because “you knew”

The best gift that I ever got was probably a lighted make-up mirror that my daddy bought for me. There was no special occasion. He knew that I had really been wanting one, and that it was difficult for me, a young teenager, to put on my make-up by leaning over the bathroom vanity. I walked in the den one day, and there it was, sitting on the mantle. I was so surprised–I did a double take. My daddy was so thoughtful. Thank you for having this giveaway.
Count me in on this contest __ I would love this win

Being a busy wahm - the best gift for me is the gift of TIME! In fact, I told my hubby that all I wanted for Christmas is to get away for 3-4 days to the snow as a family… [well, that and some really cozy PJ’s ;-)]
The perfect gift? I don’t care if it’s 10 cents or 10 million dollars, but it’s something that has some thought to it. . you thought of me. . my husband once gave me a keychain that was beautiful to me. It was a unicorn, only about 2.00, but he knew I loved unicorns, and he had seen it and thought of me. I try to put that same thought into every gift I give, because to me, it really IS the thought that counts. I want everyone to know that I bought that gift JUST for them, and really thought about it.
Would love to win this gift basket. Probably I’ll keep it for myself
Please pick me. I am going to have another sad and lonely holiday this year.

My most memorable gift was a small Waterford crystal lamp my sister bought for me when I was in college, because she’d thought very hard about what I might like. The thought was what made it special.
I think the perfect gift is personal services. I like to give GCs for babysitting, cooking, cleaning, etc.
A spa in a basket! I would love to win it!
I think the perfect gift is when you know someone so well and what they really like and you make the effort to find something just perfect for them. My husband bought me a bracelet a couple of years ago that is just so beautiful and perfect for me (with no help at all) and I still wear it everyday. I remember getting some perfect presents for my son also over the years when he was little, it feels good.
Thank you!
Kirsten wrote @ December 2nd, 2007 at 7:18 pm
When I know the person really thought about it like when my husband saved all year (knowing how I count pennies) and surprised me with pearls. I had NO idea and never dreamed of it. I know he worked side jobs for it, too.
The best gifts are the ones where you know the person put a lot of thought into it. It doesn’t matter if it is expensive, it just matters that they know you well enough to know that the gift says you and is not just some random thing they picked up.

A perfect gift to me is something handmade by my husband. He is very talented. I’m wearing a pinky ring now that he made me several years ago.
My perfect gift is the fact that my daughter will be home for Christmas! She is in the Army and stationed in Iraq but I just found out last night that someone changed their leave time with her so she can come home and be with all of us and our 3 year old granddaughter who she has not seen since Jan. It is going to be such a wonderful suprise for her daughter and all of a sudden I don’t dread this holiday anymore!
Wow, with all the comments my chances of winning are nil, but why not try???
The perfect gift for me would be a day of pampering at a spa. This is something that I just don’t give or take time to schedule for myself.
Talking a bath with new bath stuff and lotions.Afterwards a nice
crossword puzzle.
Hi! WOW I would love to have this prize! Thanks!
Talk about the perfect pamper! I would LOVE to win a basket! Merci!

What makes a gift perfect is how well thought out it is and how appropriate it is for you.
I don’t like flowers because they are a gift that dies.
So it doesn’t matter if it’s a $300 bouquet, no one who knows me would buy me flowers.
I’m an artist, so a $20 Sumi-e set from the local Asian store which comes with a bamboo brush and Chinese ink, is a gift I would cherish even if it’s $20.
If someone gets you the right thing, it shows that they really listen to you
and have carefully thought about who you are.
My perfect gift is cash so I can spend it on someone else.
My perfect gift would be Dr. House….in a bubblebath….

My husband bought me a diamond ring that he had custom made with a two carot diamond and 4 little diamonds for our children. BUT I do have to say the laptop computer he bought me while I was recovering from a double mastectomy and reconstruction for cancer was my best gift ever. It gives me a chance to enter to win things like this.

I find that the perfect gifts are the things that are really useful. I got my brother a sweater several years ago that he still tells me how much he loves when he sees me now. Evidently he’s hard to fit–his arms are long–and I just happened to choose a sweater that fit him perfectly because it didn’t have cuffs. Who knew?!
As for the perfect gift to receive… I don’t know, I’m awful to shop for. I can’t even shop for myself when people give me gift cards! I guess the perfect gift for me would be things I want but just wouldn’t indulge in–gourmet chocolates, a fruit of the month club, stuff like that.

I need more gifts
I think the most appreciated gift I have ever given my 91 year young mother was a gift card that could be used for a year of pedicures at her favorite salon. It was a gift that kept on giving, it was needed and used (she has been their customer for over 20 years), and it did not take up space in the house. I am going to give her another one this year. Thanks for the contest!
