Happy Friday everyone! My original plan today was to drop the kids off at school and head to the mall to finish up some final Christmas shopping then come home and do all my wrapping, BUT as always happens with best laid plans, I have a child home sick. Actually, she is home for the second day in a row with a terrible case of pinkeye. ICK! Instead, I will stay home a work, chat with my Friday morning blog pals, try to stay sane and maybe even get the family Christmas letter done.
I have another giveaway planned, but I’ll announce it later today. It’s a fun one that is great for the kids or teachers.
Last week’s Virtual Cookie Swap was fun! Lots of yummy recipes shared, too. Thanks to Eliza, DeafMom, Gayla, Jane, Lucy, Randa, Tiff, Linette, and MyStarbucks for joining in the fun last week.
So, how is your week going? Are the holiday plans falling into place or falling apart?

Hey Amanda! Thanks for stopping in today - sounds like you are staying busy!
I am normally so prepared for Christmas. Not this year. I don’t know what has happened to me. I’m not finished with my shopping and I have no presents wrapped!!!! Ahhhhhhh! I need a babysitter!
Good morning everyone! Sorry to hear about the pinkeye Char. That’s a nasty one to deal with. We’ve been there done that a few times.
I finally have a day of quiet around here. The man flu has dampened the last couple of days. Had one kid and the hubby sick. UGH I was so tempted to dose up their chicken noodle soup and knock them out!
I’m still hanging back just enjoying the mail and UPS delivering the Christmas I’ve ordered online. What a treat!
I’m planning a little cleaning and picture taking today. Considering ADD doesn’t take over and ping me off to another project later LOL

Ooh dear - are you susceptible to pink-eye too? Will you catch it from her? (I think we call it conjunctivitis here in the UK, and it’s horribly contagious)
Time for my 3 to come back from school - and husband to come back from London, too. He’s become one of my clients, and a very demanding one (!), so I may be working the weekend (how does that happen?) so he can demo his new project next week.
I’m not sure I have time for Christmas as well this month. Could we perhaps do it mid-February instead? Do you think anyone would notice?
Char wrote @ December 14th, 2007 at 11:23 am
Karen - I think you and Lucy should start the petition to push Christmas back a bit!
Gayla - Yep - that ADD thing can really rearrange your day if you aren’t careful - I hope you can stay on track and that everyone is healthy soon.
Amanda - did you pick one up for me too? I like the one with spinach and artichoke.
Lucy - I am also susceptible and already gave myself eye drops this morning as a precaution - I don’t have time to be “quarantined”. Get with Karen on the Christmas petition - you two may be on to something.
Oh, pink eye is no fun! Hopefully it will be all cleared up for Christmas.
We had a big snow storm yesterday, so my hubby had an hour delay this morning. Can’t wait to take the doggies on a nice winter walk this afternoon, and maybe look at the Christmas lights around the neighborhood tonight.
Oh yeah, and then there’s all the Christmas shopping I haven’t gotten around to yet… oh well, that’s for this weekend I guess!

[…] today, taking it easy. How about you? Are you tired and need some down time? Why not head over to Char’s Casual Friday and chat about whatever is on your mind? I am pretty sure that this will be the busiest shopping […]

Jane - How much snow did you get? I hear you are supposed to get more this weekend. I am really hoping that the weekend storm stays to our north.

Hey everyone! Sorry to hear so much sickness going around. I too have had the crud, and I NEVER get sick! I hate it. But I am doing what Gayla said she’d like to do, dosing up my chicken soup, lol!

Hi Denise - it just must be that time of the year. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Here I am, late to the party. Better late, than never. Right?
I’ve been meeting deadlines today, but am now able to take a break.
I’m sorry about the pink eye. We haven’t had that for a while at my house, but I remember that it’s not fun.
I love Panera bread, yummy!

I like the idea of postponing the holidays until February. Wouldn’t that be along the same lines as the philosophy that you have up to a year to send a wedding gift?

sorry to hear your daughter has pink eye, I think my youngest has something as well. Her teacher came to school with something two days in a roll and told us on friday, course Friday I figured it out when my daughter sounded just like the teacher. She’s been tucked in all weekend. Hope she gets better before we hit the road. I hate when plans go sour. We planned on christmas shopping today for the kids, but it is pouring down outside..

I’m so unprepared this year! I’m signing off here and heading to the mall to finish up the loose ends. Happy Holidays!
