I am ready to put this week behind me - the whole week is a blur. To top it all off, it has been such a draining week that I just haven’t been able to get to writing, visiting or commenting much.
So what have I missed? What’s new? Stop in and chat. Let me know what is new in your world. Did you have a fantastic post on your blog that I missed? If so, share it with us. I’ll be in and out all day so stop in when it is convenient for you.
Thanks to Eliza, Gayla, Laura, Yvonne, AgentSully, Amanda, Ingo, Brown Baron, Angela, Lucy, Jane, Denise and Pickel for stopping in last week.

Good morning! Just a quick note to say “Happy Friday” before we head off for a long weekend trip where I’ll be completely unconnected, which I hate. I feel like my left arm has been cut off when I can’t get online. I’ve saved up all my feeds to read in Google Reader with the new offline feature for the trip though, so I’ve missed some posts too!
Hope things calm down for you soon Char.

Randa - I hope you are going somewhere fun! I am not a big fan of being completely unconnected either.
Have a great weekend!
Is anyone at Blogher this weekend? If so, drop by and tell us how it is going.

I’m hosting a contest until Sunday

And I filled up on courage and made a very honest, very personal update to my most popular post ever.

I’d like to think every post of mine is fantastic haha! Um other than the fact that I worked my butt off emailing almost 2200 media contacts to get pajama mommy out there!
If anything I got 300 extra hits from those who read the emails hahaha!
Good morning Char and everyone! It’s been one of those weeks, yet again for me. The kids are getting antsy and so bored here at home. Last night was comical to say the least.
I’m sure there’s a blog in there somewhere.
I hope you bounce back real quick Char, I miss YOU!
Randa, have a great trip. Any room for me to hide in the trunk and escape with you?
Amanda - good job on doing the contacting. When I first began my STD Support site, I emailed every member of my general assembly and the assemblies of the surrounding states. I know your excitement of emailing intros at mach speeds
It makes you feel like you’ve really gotten somewhere.
Off to check out Kates Lost and Found
I don’t think I’ve read that one yet.
Char wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 7:52 am
Kate - I voted for your contest post. Great job on the update post - you can really tell when these things come from the heart.
Amanda - let us know how the media campaign goes. I have never tried that approach, but have a site that might benefit from it.

Good morning Gayla! What is the magic back to school day for your kids? Mine go back August 27.
Pickel wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 8:54 am
Pajama Mommy? New site, Gayla?
I’ve had great success this week with a giveaway, thanks to Shannon at Rocks in My Dryer. I’m currently looking for some companies to donate some fun items for a once a month giveaway for my site. Any suggestions?
I also met up with the Chicago Moms Blog and Silicon Valley Moms girls last night downtown Chicago! Great fun! You know, BlogHer is in town…
Char wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 8:57 am
Pickel - I am SOOOO jealous! I would love to be at BlogHer this weekend. Sounds like you had fun. Are you going to BlogHer this weekend?
Pajama Mommy is Amanda’s site. It is so hard to keep track of all of us, isn’t it?
Laura wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 9:03 am
I’m hosting my first group writing project: http://www.writingthoughts.com/?p=183. There’s even a prize!
Pickel wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 9:09 am
Nope, not heading into BlogHer…maybe next year. But, my goal is to be asked to speak!
Sorry, Amanda. I can’t keep track! And, I see that your daughter has Aspergers?
Gayla, spread the love over here!
Hi all. It’s been a very busy week and I’m looking forward to kicking back and relaxing during the weekend - if my kids will let me heh. I just want to sleep for 12 hours straight
Randa - Have a great time!
Brooke wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 9:35 am
Hello everyone - I will just be eaves-dropping today - but I wanted to say hello.
Char - I “met” you over at the SOB blog a while ago. Been reading your blogs ever since!
Char wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 9:45 am
Brown Baron - I could seriously sleep for 12 hours straight. Maybe I can sleep in Sunday.
Hi Brooke! Thanks for coming over today. I like the changes you have made on your blog!
Denise wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 9:49 am
Hi everyone!
I really need some help this morning. All of my sidebar stuff on my blog for some reason is below my post section. Can anyone take a look and tell me how to fix this? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Denise
Brooke wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 9:50 am
Thank you Char - I’ve been so busy with work and kids that the blog REALLY suffers! So I appreciate it.
Char wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 9:52 am
Denise - try removing the photo from the 20th or making it smaller - that may be the problem. It is 800 px wide - more than what you have to work with.
Brooke - I know the feeling! Summer is brutal for balancing it all.
Brooke wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 10:03 am
I know that I said that I was checking things out - but I have a question. Has anyone ever used Drupal? Why or why not?
Char wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 11:05 am
Brooke - I have played with Drupal and Joomla briefly and immediately got frustrated. What type of project are you wanting to use it for?
Brooke wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 11:09 am
a small website that will also have a little blog attached. I think wp will be a lot less frustrating!
Laura wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 12:01 pm
Well it’s been a busy week with the Dog Days of Summer giveaway. It isn’t too late to enter for a one year subscription to the new Organize magazine. Contest closes at 12:00 pm pst today.
I’m trying to get ready for a month long vacation….too little time, so much to do!
Have a great weekend,
Laura

Man, that’s a hard one Char…but if I must I’d say my Tues & Thurs giveaways seem to be my best pieces. Heck, I’m even giving something away this time (3 books), but for my best blog entry I’m going with Gearing Up for Blogathon2007. Anyone else doing that? Blogathon that is?
I did see new movies this week, I’m sure I posted about them and can’t recall now but one was The Contract. Today I re-rented “The Messengers” and “Stranger than Fiction.”
PJmomma- I’ve been wondering the same thing . I would love to host a giveaway once a week since I always post links to giveaways.
Anyong going to Blogher?
I can’t recall who asked but last week someone wanted scary, did they rent the movies I suggested? What did you think?
I have a post today about the new fabulous Devi Kroell designer bags at Target. Check it out! Thanks!
Homemom3- That was me! I loved them all too, thanks. I think I might be asking you for more recommendations soon
DevDad wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 3:13 pm
Char,
Thanks for stopping by! As for good posts, I think my favorite of the week is this one:

What could be better than comparing a 16 month old to a junkie?

Char wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
Brooke - I would use WP - without a doubt!
Laura - a MONTH long vacation? Wow! Are you going to still blog while you are on vacation?
HomeMom3 - I wish I was a BlogHer. Maybe next year.
Bronwen - Welcome! I love all the cool fashions at your blog.
Char wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
Mike - thanks for visiting us here! Your daughter is just too cute and I can understand the attraction.
Hi Char
Hope some of you will join in and/or help us spread the word about Shared Answers 2007 - a joint group writing project I’m hosting with Laura Spencer. It should be fun. For more info - http://www.growyourwritingbusiness.com/?p=273
I’ve been away for a few days and came back to 585 emails. I’m going to have to get some kind of filter. Any recommendations?
Hope all is well Char, and that you’re back to 100% energy levels soon.
Homemom3 wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 8:17 pm
hey ya’ll please stop by my blog tomorrow and cheer me on. Doing the blogathon and I’ll be up for 24 hours. Eeekk! Hmm, I’ll even give out my IM and yahoo messenger name on the blog so ya’ll can chat with me. I know I’ll need the help. Was just informed it’s from 9 am. (my time) to 9 a.m. sunday. Ikkk, was okay with the 6a.m. my time one.
Char wrote @ July 27th, 2007 at 9:42 pm
Yvonne - your group writing project sounds like a great challenge! Oh, and I know what you mean about coming home to a boat load of emails. One of the things I do is set up “rules” by my primary clients and groups. That helps distribute them quite well and makes it much more manageable.
HomeMom3 - you are going to need a lot of coffee! I hope you have lots of post ideas. I’ll stop in for sure.
