Friday Wrap Up

It looks like the MyBlogLog issue has resolved itself so I am happy to say I can see all your faces in the sidebar again. Yeah! I missed you.

Virginia TechIt has been an emotionally trying week for the nation as we try to come to terms with the events that have unfolded. Today is Hokie Hope day and the sun is finally shining again in Virginia. No joke. It has been gray, cold and gloomy all week and today the sun is out and it supposed to be warm. This in itself gives a sign that the healing process has begun. Add to the fact that Sunday is Earth Day - another reason to connect with the community and keep moving forward.

Here are a few posts that I have come across this week that I really enjoyed:

And some shameless self promotion! Here are some other posts from my other blogs that you might like:

Have a great weekend! Get out and enjoy the sun and celebrate the goodness that Mother Earth has given us.

Let’s Write A Song

THE (LOST) FRIENDI never expected to be part of the creation of a song, but my law-practicing, drumstick-wielding, German pal Ingo of Amanita Muscaria, does this all the time as part of the band THE (LOST) FRIEND.

He is getting ready to start writing again and needs our help! The blogosphere is going to write this next one - one line at a time, one blogger at a time.

Ingo’s instructions:

Whenever a line is added please drop a note to amanita.muscaria-at-o2online-dot-de so I can stay in touch with the results on your blog and see who got involved in the songwriting.

Having a rock song in mind this is the first line of the first verse:

“I never thought this could happen”

I have to add the next line:

“Was it in my destiny”

Take it away Michelle! And anyone else who would like to contribute.

UPDATE:

So, the song writing task is taking place in the comments and I will update it here as we go along. Everyone is invited to participate! Here is what we have so far:

I never thought this could happen

Was it in my destiny?

I’ve traveled over oceans and deserts of desire

Now I’m drowning from your sand in my mouth

We can never go back to the box

So I’m finally ready to stand my ground.

Fun Friday

Thankful

Doris tagged me today for another “meme” - this one with the theme of three things you are thankful for. Well, her timing couldn’t be better as I have quite a bit to be thankful for today.

1. I haven’t been feeling great lately and I noticed a lump on my rib cage. My doctor ordered a full blood work up and a CT scan. I had the CT this morning and the good news is that they didn’t find any tumors. I’ll touch base with the doctor next week and discuss everything in detail, but at least I won’t spend the weekend worrying like crazy.

2. I am thankful I work from home. We have had bad weather this week and our kids have been home two days so far and I just got word that they are staying home again tomorrow. While I haven’t gotten as much work done as I’d like, at least I haven’t had to stress over what to do with my kids all week.

3. Of course, I am thankful for all my family and friends (at home and online). Everyone has been great lately and I have really needed it.

Let’s continue this meme by tagging LocalGirl at Island Life, Michelle at Scribbit, Carrie at My Lil’ Corner of the World, Laura at I’m an Organizing Junkie, and Jen at Blue Monday.
