The current header (which is still temporary) was made using Photoshop with some cool foliage brushes from DesignFruit (thanks Randa for pointing me there). I spent a few hours this morning playing around with all the different styles and sizes - too much fun!
I’m not done with this renovation yet - bear with me as I fit it in between “real” work.

Let me just say I am glad Friday is finally here! It has been a rough week and I haven’t had much time to do anything I really want to do. From snow days to sick kids, doctors appointments to sports practices, and everything else a busy Mom has to fit into her week, I am ready to kick back and relax.
I am excited about this evening. We are going to the school to play Basket Bingo - where the prizes are real Longaberger baskets filled with great stuff. I actually won a small basket a few years ago, but I want the big one this time! If I win I’ll be sure to take some pictures and post them here.
I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Take time to do something fun with your family or friends, then make sure you take some time to do something for you and only you!

This year has been busy, but in a good way! I am frantically trying to wrap up the loose ends of the year so I can start 2007 with a clear head and some inspiration. Here is the latest:
- I got all my Christmas cards out - yeah, me.
- The tree is up and decorated.
- Most of the presents are bought and waiting to be wrapped.
- I’m trying to tackle the house room by room to be ready for Christmas Day.
- My work to-do list is shrinking as I mark off completed tasks, but I still have a handful of tasks to tackle.
- I still have to go through my box of paperwork and keep the necessaries for taxes and pitch the rest.
So, basically I am doing everything in little bits and trying to tie up as much unfinished business as I can. I try to start each day with my blank sheet of paper, filled with business to-dos, holiday and home goals. I never mark it all off, but the list is shrinking.

I know it must be difficult to live your life in the public eye, but what is it about the personality of celebrities that makes it so hard for them to live by the same rules as the rest of us?
I think many people who are drawn to being actors and actress, comedians and other performers crave attention. They tend to be insecure individuals in many aspects, but the applause of the audience and constant media attention feed their hunger for attention. Do you really think that Tom Cruise would be happy with his life if his acting and celebrity career would suddenly be done? Have his recent antics been a desperate attempt to keep him in the public eye? I think so. Can you imagine living with that man? Too high maintenance - no way!!
And what about all the actresses who are constantly starving themselves? Someone needs to step in and let these girls know that they are fine just the way they are! But I do think there is something about their personalities - the same thing that makes them good performers also makes them do stupid things.
In my opinion, divas in any arena of life tend to be so amazingly good at what they do that other vital areas of their lives are never developed - like common sense (think - Einstein). You find this with elite athletes, geniuses, musicians and actors.
What do you think? Is it just their personality or am I missing the boat on this one? And in the meantime, if you need some more celebrity antics to keep you amused, check out CelebAmour - she’s got it all there.
