Tuesday Link Explosion

My week has started off a little out of sorts but I am regaining composure quickly. I have a few things to share with you today so get that mouse warmed up!

• The Carnival of Family Life is up at Real Life. This weekly round up of the best family oriented links is getting bigger by the week. It is a great way to introduce your posts to a large and enthusiastic audience.
• Inspiration Bit hosted a Group Writing Project on time management strategies. More than 30 people shared their tips and techniques - be sure to check them all out! Mine is #11.
• The Family & Relationship Channel at b5media is gearing up for an amazing month of giveaway. Be sure to stop over and check out the enormous list of prizes and how you can get in on the action.
• Today is the last day to enter my giveaway for the Designher Gals gift certificate. If you are doing the Gal to Gal Walk, please let me know! The walk is in New York today.
• My daughter is home sick for the second day in a row so I did not get a Menu Plan Monday post done or a Monday Motivation post done either. However, I decided to share my favorite Sick Day Sanity Savers instead.

Wacky Wednesday Links Worth Mentioning

I spent my morning with a stack of construction paper and a pair of scissors while helping out the Kindergarten resource teacher at the kids’ school.  As much as I enjoyed getting a chance to see the Kindergarten students and teachers in action (my hat’s off to you ladies - you are amazing), it kind of screwed up the way my day went.

So, here are some quick links for you:

• If you have a site that has a product/consumer type audience, then Auction Ads might be a good monetizing option for you. I have it running on a few of my sites and am really happy with it. Auction Ads is running a promotion for new publishers right now. Every new Auction Ads publisher that signs up will automatically get $25 put into their Auction Ads account to get the ball rolling.  This is a really good deal, especially with the holidays coming up. • Vivien at Inspiration Bit is running a Group Writing Project that I think many of my readers can relate to - it is on the topic of Time Management. How do you juggle it all? • Oh, WorkFromHomeMomma did a really nice interview on me last week. Laura has done a great job on that blog and I highly recommend you stop over and check it out.

Monday Morning Link Love and Guest Blogging Opportunities

I meant to post this yesterday, but for some reason I was so tired that I went to bed with the kids at 9:30 - that never happens! Here are a few links that are definitely worth visiting this week.

• The Island Life hosted the Carnival of Family Life this week and did a fabulous job!  She also has a great contest going now - you can win a $50 gift certificate to KooKoo Bear Kids - just in time for some back-to-school shopping.
• Marcie has posted a great list of 10 Ways to Cut Grocery Bills. My favorite way is Menu Planning.
• I have found another wonderful Daddy blogger to add to my list - DevDad - and he even took his favorite girls to a baseball game this weekend. It looks like they had a great time.
• Laura and Yvonne are hosting a Group Writing Project called Shared Answers. Check it out - there is even a prize.
• Eliza at HomeMomto3 spent her weekend participating in Blogathon - she blogged for 24 hours while raising money for a good cause.

Sharing Words of Wisdom

This week has been super busy and it is only Tuesday! Fortunately for me, some of my favorite blogs have been touching on some of the challenges I am facing as I navigate through this summer trying to balance growing my business while working from home with spending plenty of quality time with my kids.

Want to be successful? Learn to manage expectations. Randa Clay has reminded me of a very important business strategy - managing client expectations. I can’t think of a more important business princple than this during summer. Apart from the time constraints of having kids home, there are things like summer vacation (for you and your client), holidays, and the generally slower pace of business in the summer.

What you want may be different than what you will settle for. Is Wendy talking to me? Uh, maybe! Balancing a successful business with being a successful Mom is a constant push and pull scenario. Wendy reminds us to take stock of our goals and the goals of those around us and to make sure that we are not just settling because it is the most comfortable route at the time.
