Monday Motivation - Need Coffee

Monday MotivationIt’s Monday, my favorite day of the week, the day I look forward to all weekend because everyone goes back to school and work and I can get stuff done. Unfortunately today, I just don’t feel the Monday love. I think it is because I feel like I am getting sick again - my throat hurt all night and I just want to crawl back into bed. I’ve taken two Motrin and brewed another cup of coffee - maybe in 20 minutes I will come back to life!

Since I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck today, I’m setting the bar very low for myself.

Today:

  • Just get invoices finished - no big stress here, just tedium

This week:

  • Start redesign for DollDiaries.com
  • Re-evaluate and update affilate links (what is working, what is not, what could be)
  • Get a bunch of reviews done
  • Build up stock pile of future posts

That’s it, nothing major, but I have to put it out there for all to see or it won’t even get started.

How about you? What are your goals for today or the week? I have found that making my plan and holding myself accountable for it is the best way to start off my week. Join Wendy at eMoms at Home, WAH(web)Mommy, From the Park Bench and me by posting your own Monday Motivation post.

PS - I still have some great giveaways running (just in case you missed them).

It’s Monday - No Motivation Needed

Monday MotivationI know some people hate Mondays or find it difficult to get moving, but personally, I love Mondays! After a busy weekend with the family, there was no motivation required for me to get started. As soon as I got the kids off to school I couldn’t wait to sit down with my coffee and notebook and log my plan of action for today.

Now it is 1:30 in the afternoon and I am very happy with what I have accomplished so far - including a few loads of laundry, three posts, some client work, and I even had a healthy breakfast and lunch.  Granted, I still have plenty to do, but there’s time.

So who else is talking about Mondays? Why not check out these posts for inspiration:

T.G.I. Monday!! Have a great day!

Monday Motivation - Back to Business

Monday MotivationToday is the first Monday of 2008 and I am officially declaring the holidays OVER. I took down my Christmas tree yesterday and every shred of evidence that the holidays were even here is gone. Last week I welcomed in the new year and made my New Year’s proclimation, but today I am taking action.

This week I will:

  • Finish putting together my business action plan for the year. This isn’t anything formal, rather just a document containing some goals and action items for achieving them.
  • Launch a new site for a client
  • Help a client with a video cast (I will even be featured in it)
  • Write a review of my new Wacom Bubble Fun tablet
  • Close out 2007 books and start putting together my folder of everything I need to run my 2007 taxes. I use TurboTax Business 2007 and find it very easy to use.

On a personal level I will:

  • Drink more water (I haven’t had any soda in months - yeah me)
  • Move for 30 minutes a day - minimum
  • Try to get the laundry room back in order (this one may be a stretch)

I have my dinner menu for the week all planned already, and I know what appointments I have, so I think I am ready to take this week head on!

Monday Motivation - Work Now Play Later

Monday MotivationTypically December is a month where I do not take on new projects, rather I use the month to wrap up all loose ends, get my books in order and prepare to hit the ground running in January after enjoying the holiday season with my family. Knowing that I plan on taking about a week off between Christmas and New Year’s means I have to plan for it now. After all, with all the perks of being your own boss comes the harsh reality of when you don’t work, you don’t get paid.

My list for the week is prepared and ready to go:

  • Invoice clients for November work
  • Do four sets of client updates
  • Continue work on two new sites for clients
  • Put the search bar back in at Essential Keystrokes
  • Write a handful of posts to use as back ups on busy days
  • Analyze my traffic reports from November and identify trends and areas of improvement

There is a lot to get accomplished, but unlike last week, I will be in the office everyday. The more I knock out now, the more I can play at the end of the month.

What are your goals this week? What motivates you to get it all done?  Join Wendy at eMoms at Home, WAH(web)Mommy and me by posting your own Monday Motivation post.

Monday Motivation - Refreshed and Ready to Go

Monday MotivationI hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We did and even got a few days of needed R&R as well. My brother and his wife offered to have our kids over for a few days while my husband and I took a quick road trip for our anniversary (which is today - 13 years). We had a great time and I highly recommend taking time away with just your spouse from time to time.

Anyhow, it’s Monday and I am back and feeling refreshed and ready to go into the holiday season. As I usually do on Sunday afternoons, I sat down and made my list of priorities for the week, checked my appointment schedule, and made my menu.

My goals for this week:

  • Catch up on client site updates
  • Work on site redesign for Printables4Kids
  • Line up Casual Friday giveaways/sponsors for the remainder of the year

On the personal front:

  • Develop a new good habit - at least 15 minutes of heart pumping exercise a day
  • Continue my new “no-soda” habit. It has been 3 weeks since I had soda of any kind and I really don’t miss it
  • Do more of my Christmas shopping online
