What a weekend! The team of gymnasts I coach (ages 7-10) had their state championships this past weekend. It was the most nerve racking, exhausting, and rewarding weekend. Our team ended up in 4th place out of 23 teams – a heartbreaking mere .3 out of 2nd place, but a super strong finish nonetheless.
So, it is Monday and I have another week of endless possibilities ahead of me. I am joining Wendy from eMoms at Home in putting my to-do list or weekly goals out there for the whole world to read. My leverage this week is also a positive one – get it all done, and enjoy a three-day weekend with the family. The key word is ENJOY. If I can start the weekend off knowing I accomplished my goals for the week, then I will be able to relax and have fun.
MY GOALS FOR THE WEEK
- Install and set up QuickBooks
- Complete at least one unfinished, major task each day
- Do two product reviews (these will appear at WearyParent)
- Spend 15 minutes each day de-cluttering one room of the house
- Walk at least 30 minutes three days this week
- Almost forgot one – list at least 5 lots of spring/summer girls clothes on eBay
How about you? What are you going to get accomplished this week? Feel free to post them in the comments here or at Wendy’s – or better yet, post them at your site for all the world to see. Accountability is such a powerful motivator.

Whew! Spring Break is over and the big kids got on that big yellow school bus very happily this morning. My busy 5 year old is buzzing around doing her own thing and asking for addition worksheets to work on. I didn’t get much accomplished last week but look forward to this week with a very hopeful outlook.
Again I am taking Wendy Piersall’s Monday Motivation challenge to get my week officially underway!
Install cool CSS drop down menu on a site I have underconstruction
Updates on another client site
Review and file my taxes (uh, I know, I know – it’s that procrastination thing)
Clear out some of my inbox
Review some of the 100th link blogs
If I don’t get this accomplished today, I will give up coffee for a week – and that would be bad. I’ll be back throughout the day to update.

It is Spring Break week for my kids and I am just not sure what the week will hold, so I am not doing a Menu Plan Monday post this week. Actually, if things go well, I may not have to cook much anyway.
Instead, I am going to take Wendy Piersall’s Monday Motivation challenge. I have a handful of tasks I want to clear off my plate so that I can take a day or two with the kids, guilt-free, and go play.
Finish client e-newsletter set up Sent to client for review
Finish dropping in content on another new web site project so client can review
- Finish monthly invoices
- Clean off my desk
If I don’t get this done I am going to have three very grouchy children and one big guilt trip on my head! Yikes! I had better get going. I’ll be back to mark things off as I complete them.
UPDATE: I did not complete my list. Silly me, thinking I could accomplish all that with three kids home on spring break! Ha! My attitude for the rest of the week is just to get as much done as I can, but not make everyone miserable!

Procrastination and time management become bigger challenges as the days begin to get warmer and longer! Normally, I start my week off trying to set priorities, making lists, and checking things off, but yesterday didn’t work that way. Today will be more productive – it has to be. I have arranged my schedule so I am in the office ALL day today (other than running the youngest to school, but a friend is bringing her home). Whether you want to call this a delayed Monday Motivation (ala Wendy at eMomsAtHome) or a Tackle It Tuesday (5 Minutes for Mom), this is what I am going to take on today!!!
- Write posts for
Essential Keystrokes and Weary Parent
Finish guest post article
Review a media kit
Do a full set of updates for a client
Get a working mock up for another client site done
If I don’t get all of this done, I will ground myself from reading all my favorite blogs until its done.

Normally I do a Menu Plan Monday post, but this week has two out evenings already planned, there are plenty of leftovers, and my family may just have to fend for themselves.
Instead, I am tackling my procrastination this week. Taking my cue from Wendy at eMomsAtHome, I am making my Monday Motivation post. Here are a few things I MUST accomplish today:
Post meet results
- Put final edits/tweaks on a client site
Have a conference call with another client
- Post at Essential Keystrokes and
Weary Parent
Clear out at least 25 messages from my inbox
Sounds easy doesn’t it? Factor in there that my kids are on a two hour delay for weather, then I have to take the youngest to preschool at 1:00 and then I have to leave for afternoon pickups/gymnastics at 3:30. Starting to look like a swiss cheese kind of day.
I’ll be back throughout the day to mark off what I have gotten done.
