My son recently traded in his PS2 and all its games in order to get an Xbox instead. While looking through his stack of PS2 games I couldn’t help but wonder how many of the games were bought but not really played. I know he had his favorites but there were definitely some that maybe got 2-3 plays.
I wish I would have registered for GameFly™
sooner. Imagine the money I could have saved. It allows you to basically rent video games and have them delivered to your house. The kids can play them as long as they want and if they really love it, you can buy it or return it and pick a new title.
Rarely do my kids play more than two games at a time anyhow. Not only does using GameFly save me money by purchasing games that don’t really live up to the kids expectations, it also means I don’t have to store all of these games either! That is a huge selling point as far as I am considered.

We are a pretty high tech family who loves gadgets and the latest and greatest technology, so when we were given the opportunity to review a new Wi-Fi all in one printer from Lexmark, we couldn’t say no.
The Lexmark X4550 is a Wireless All-In-One – Photo Printing, Scan, Copy and Print – office machine that delivers quality printing at a price that is affordable for families, students, and small businesses. You can purchase it through from Amazon for less than $100.
One of the areas that many companies fall short in is installation and set up. I decided to test Lexmark’s ease of setup by tasking my 11 year old son with getting the printer set up. I am happy to say that Lexmark passed with flying colors! My son was able to set up, install and test the printer and get it working via wi-fi on his first try without any assistance from me. That’s an A for ease of setup and family friendliness!Â
When reviewing its speed and output quality, I had to keep reminding myself that this all-in-one (AIO) is designed primarily for home use. It is not blazing fast, however, it was not extremely slow either. The print quality is also more along the lines of home use – perfect for printing out homework, family letters, and basic printing. It is not high end business grade by any means.
The AIOÂ can function as a stand alone copier and fax machine. It can also be used as a scanner and you can print photos directly from memory sticks and USB devices.
We have decided to put the printer down in the kids “office” area. All three of them have their own computer and teh Lexmark X4550 can easily handle the networking wirelessly.
Final recommendations:
While I would not purchase the Lexmark X4550 Wireless AIO All-In-One Printer – Print, Copy and Scan as a primary printer for my design business, it is an affordable all in one system that is ideal for home and student use.

Have you noticed those fun widgets showing up at all your favorite blogs that show you who was last there (scroll down to the lower right on this page)? Those are thanks to MyBlogLog, a social networking site for bloggers. I signed up about two weeks ago and I am really glad I did. It has been good for increasing my readership and for increasing the circle of blogs I like to read.
I wrote a review on MyBlogLog at my business blog, Essential Keystrokes, today. Check it out – and then come join in the fun!

In my web travels last week, I came upon one of those sites that you just can’t help but share with your friends! It is called Designher Gals. It is kind of like playing dress up but is also one of the coolest, unique gift ideas I have seen this year, and its proceeds are used to raise money for the Gal to Gal Foundation.
At Designher Gals you create your own gal – a child, teen/young adult, grown up, or mommy with a bump. You pick her features such as hair color and style, eye color, skin color and such. You also choose her clothes, accessories and “attitude”. Once you have created your gal, you can send her as an e-Card for free or turn her into personalized stationery, stickers, t-shirts, invitations and other gifts that look like you or your friends.
Go check it out! But make sure you have a block of time set aside, because once you start playing and creating your gal pals, it is hard to stop!

On Monday nights I have one hour where I have to be at the gym waiting for my daughter to finish workout after I finish teaching. I have decided to start walking on the treadmill at the back of the gym while I wait. I grabbed my daughter’s iPod and found some fun upbeat songs to walk to. Here are some of my favorites:
A little teeny-bopperish? Maybe? But it gets your heart pumping and makes the time go by faster. Do you have any suggestions for songs to add for next week’s workout? What are your favorites?
