For Part 3 of my Ireland series, I give you the world famous Blarney Castle - home of the even more famous Blarney Stone and all of the legends that go with it. And yes, I have kissed it.

So you lay down on your back and arch backwards to kiss that. Those three bars and some one holding your feet are really all that keep you from falling through to the ground. I kissed the Blarney Stone when I was 13, but the day we went it was so wet and windy I wasn’t going to risk it again.

Were you not scared, leaning down to do that? I think it would scare me!

Brian - that’s what valium is for.
Zoe - I added another picture and more explanation - I kissed the stone when I was young and unafraid. Now, I wouldn’t do it.

My husbands family is from Ireland and my grandfather’s too - I’ve always wanted to go there. I hear it’s the closest thing to heaven on earth there is.
As for kissin’ the stone, well, coming from a compulsive hand washer, I don’t think I would ever have the guts to do it. Besides, I’ve been blessed with the gift of gab regardless. Grandpa musta kissed it good

So, did kissing the blarney-stone make you a good liar?
