This one is for the girls! Without fail, the day I call and schedule a hair appointment my hair looks terrible and the day before the appointment it looks great!!! So off I go to the salon yesterday and decide that all I really need is a trim and my hair coloring needs help because the summer highlights are too grown out and the dark brown and gray hairs are shining through!
I decided that what I wanted was my natural dark brown hair back. I am rebelling against the trend of blonde highlights - afterall, they just turn orange on my hair anyhow. Well, let’s just say that now my hair is BLACK and I am not happy about it. Why can’t I just find a color I like? Everything is either too dark, too light, or too orange.
I am hoping that by week’s end and lots of washing, it will have faded out enough that I can live with it. I mean, it’s only hair, and it will grow out, but I will just be avoiding mirrors for a few days!

O How funny! I went to the salon yesterday too! I got my hair cut OFF (from lower mid back to shoulder) AND I’m now a BLUSH Blonde. Fancy schmancy for strawberry blonde. My husband thinks he’s gettin’ some strange these days LOL
Guess we’re on the same wavelength when it comes to needing some change.
Love IT!

It must be the change in the weather! Maybe a full moon? Who knows. I think change is good, even when it doesn’t turn out the way you expected. You just might learn something new in the process.

Hopefully the color will fade to a shade more to your liking. My experience with dyeing hair brown is that the colors generally do come out darker than you’d expect. Med golden brown (L’Oreal) and Med brown with copper highlights both leave me with a fairly deep color.
If your hair is dry or damaged or porous from heat styling, it will suck up the color more intensely. Still, seeing as you used a professional stylist, she should have been able to gauge how your hair would take the color.
