I love purses. I change them out by the season and sometimes more often than that. A while back my good pal V-grrrl introduced me to Kipling Bags
. V is from the States but is currently living in Belgium and has acquired quite the taste for Kipling bags.
When I recently helped V’s friend Di with getting her website up and running I told her she could just pay me in Kipling (purses that is). She thought I was joking – no I was serious. I don’t know if you can even get Kipling bags in the US and certainly not in my small little town, so they are special.
So she and V-grrrl went on a shopping trip and found me two cute Kipling bags to add some fun to my handbag wardrobe.
The first one is the Fairfax from the Moccachina line. It’s chocolate brown and white so it will go with anything, year round. It has lots of pockets and compartments – making it a perfect choice for a mom on the go.

The second one is from the Basic Line and is called Diane. My daughter already has her eye on this pale lavender bag. Sorry – it’s mine! It has a front pocket that fits my Treo phone perfectly! And its trademark monkey keychain is named Dorothy – too cute.

So, thanks V-grrrl and Di! You made great choices – I love them both! Oh, and the chocolate truffles – YUMMY!

There was only one Fairfax available the day we bought it, and let me tell you, I had to exercise SERIOUS self control to keep from scamming it for myself. I loved the shape and the brown and white print is so “au courant.”
As I was walking to the checkout, another chick asked me where I’d found it in the shop and gave a heavy sigh when she heard it was the only one.
The “Diane,” aptly named, reminded me of a bag you’d talked about last summer….
Glad you liked the selections!

I found great irony in both names – I went to high school and college in Fairfax and yes, Diane for Di.

OoooOOOoh. LOVE THEM! One of my favorite bags is a Kipling. It’s a few years old now but I still think it’s so fun. I’ll take a pic of it and share it with you sometime.
I knew there must be a reason I like you!

Hi Char, I love Kipling too, esp the sling pouch and backpack, fantastic for travelling. I got to talk about this in my new shopping blog!

I’m glad you loved them … and the chocolates are my favourites.

If you have a direct link to the kipling products you would have a great online business. Kipling bags are so unique (I have several) I love them all but am always looking at the latest collections that usually take a year to make it to the US and not guaranteeing that they all make it. I have had some luck finding what I want but only after hours of searching. Let me know if you do this or not or if you could help me find the ones I am looking for

Hey yeah it is extremely difficult to buy Kipling bags in US if you live outside NY, CA, and FL. Then again if you find any, they’re like a few pieces and not the whole collection. I have been a Kipling fanatic for 17 years and where I live there is no Kipling in my state! So luckily I got to know of someone based here in US who can get current season bags at reasonable prices for me, who apparently works directly or indirectly with Kipling in Europe. I don’t need to wait a year phew!

The Luggage Warehouse is a great site for all of the absolute latest US colors. It is usually always discounted with free shipping on anything over $50. All you need is web access and a street address, these days, to get the best Kipling delivered right to your door. Check out the new Peacock color for August! I just bought the new Sherpa in Peacock, which I LOVE, LOVE , LOVE! It is the perfect size to hold everything for a full day out. I also use it for work because it will hold files and my lunch (if I pack it) and anything else I want to tuck in there. The best part is that it also has a sleeve on the back for a luggage pass through so it will slip over the handles of a wheeled piece of luggage, which makes it the perfect cabin bag for airplane travel.
