Playful Pittsburgh Zoo Polar Bear Video

The Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium opened a new exhibit this summer called Water’s Edge. The display is built to look like a seaside town with building facades and tanks in between. You wind your way from the top level and viewing the animals from above ground/water to going underneath the tunnel where you can get a view of the same animals from down below.

The polar bears were definitely having fun! They had big plastic barrels that they had chewed up that now resembled buckets. One polar bear was acting so much like a kid. He would pick up the bucket and throw it overhead to the water, then he would belly flop into the water to play with and then retrieve the bucket. Luckily I was able to capture it on video.

Oh my gosh, that was soooo cute! That polar bear leaped into that water with such ease for an animal of that size!

That exhibit sounds wonderful. Glad you’re having fun on your vacation!
