Quiz - Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?

Are you smarter than a 5th grader My kids were pretty excited when I told them this afternoon that I had just found out that Fox’s Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader quiz show would be back on this summer. I guess I know what we are watching on Thursday nights!

Hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, is a quiz show where players test their knowledge against actual fifth grade students. They just finished a new round of casting auditons - looking for rising 5th graders for next season.

Remember Who Wants to be a Millionaire’s Phone-a-Friend? Well, in the 5th Grader show, you can “cheat” off a friend once in the classroom like set. When you run out of help and feel the questions are getting too hard, you can “drop out of school” rather than lose all your money.

Are you smarter than a 5th grader

Do you think you are smarter than a fifth grader? The TV show’s web site has a quiz you can take online. I just took it and got all 7 questions correct - even though I had to have my 5th grader “save” me once. I have found a few other sites that have similar quizzes if you really want to test yourself!

Or play at home with one of these games (click image for ordering information):

How many did you get right? Do you think the show is accurate in it skill level?

I too got them all right with help on one. Who really knows what the 4 original Canadian provinces were?

Steve - I don’t remember studying Canadian history either. European history, yes, but for some reason, they glossed over the whole Canadian thing!

It helps if you’re from Canada. :) I managed to get all of them right. Thanks for the link.

How fun! WOW it’s amazing how much you forget things you learned in grade school.

great show but jimmy was cheated tonight. Maximum number of years for president is 8 years. See 22nd amendment to the constitution.
U.S. Constitution: Twenty-Second Amendment
Twenty-Second Amendment - Presidential Tenure

Amendment Text | Annotations
Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2. This Article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

I didn’t see the show and so I don’t know the “right” answer, but technically, under the 22nd Amendment, one could theoretically be President for 9 years and 364 days, right? You can only run once for election if you have served TWO years of another President’s term, but if you had served LESS than two years (say 1 years and 364 days), then technically you could run for President twice.

I love this show also. Both a localized version and the original (hosted by Jeff Foxworthy) is shown here in my country. Btw, you can checkout http://www.triviahero.com if you like to play trivia quizzes online. it’s an awesome site!

A person, under the constitution, can serve ten years. They could serve 2 years as a vice, and if on first day of their third year, the President steps down, gets assassinated, etc. they are able to carry out the remainder of that term PLUS an additional eight years.
