This quote from Lucinda Basset pretty much sums up my attitude lately:
You have to do what you love to do, not get stuck in that comfort zone of a regular job. Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it.
What does it mean to you?

I think most “midlife crises” have to do with people getting “unstuck.”
To be fair, I don’t think it’s always the job that’s the problem but it’s all the other volunteer and family activities that suck the life out of your “free” time that can kill you–unless you LOVE them.

Insightful as always, V! I think I need to take lessons in saying the word “no” to things I don’t really love.

This has philosophical resonance.
What does it matter? Who says it is not a dress rehearsal? Does the person who says it is not a dress rehearsal only actually give something away about their view of life after death? Maybe the comfort zone of a regular job allows (whoever) to do the things they want to do? We live, at best, for seventy odd years. What then? Who remembers their ancestors further back than three generations?
NB: These are not my thoughts, I’m just throwing a bag of monkeys full of spanners into the mix. But I am interested.
To me, this means life is too short to waste even a minute doing something we despise. MUST…FOCUS…MORE!
