Alex Shalman of Practical Personal Development is teaming up with Aaron Potts of Today is That DaySimply Successful Secrets (remember my post) to find out what makes us tick - what our goals and dreams are - and to help us all discover the inner spark for success at the same time. What does that all mean? It means a new meme on Goal Setting!
Alex tagged me personally, so of course, I must help get this thing off the ground. And, goal setting is a really good exercise that should be done regularly. Alex asked for 5-10 of my wildest dreams. Hmmm… Let’s see.
1. Raise three children to be happy, independent, law abiding citizens. That is my ultimate goal in life. If the three of them grow up to live their dreams, learn to be independent, stay out of trouble, and make a positive contribution to society, then I have accomplished every parents’ number 1 goal.
2. Financial Freedom. Another common goal, but one I would really like to achieve. Money is not my favorite thing to manage. I have made great strides in the past year when it comes to planning, setting priorities, and realistic financial goals. I would like to continue on this path and eventually get to the point where money is not a major headache.
3. Become an Elite Level Gymnastics Judge. Threw you all for a curve on that one, didn’t I? Anyone who really knows me, will tell you that gymnastics is my passion. I have been coaching gymnastics in some capacity for almost 25 years. The joy I get watching young athletes learn, grow and succeed is amazing. Once my kids are grown I would like to take my passion to the other side of the fence and judge again (I did that years ago when I took a break from coaching). I would like to continue to give back to the sport and the athletes in a different capacity.
4. Travel. I am very fortunate to have done a fair amount of travel already in my life. I have been to Germany, England, Ireland, Canada, Zimbabwe, Hawaii, Jamaica, and most of the United States. However, there are so many places I would like to see again and the list of places I haven’t seen is very long!
5. Take my business to the next level. If you have been reading my business blog, Essential Keystrokes, then you are aware of my latest challenge. With my youngest going to school full time in the fall and my client load growing daily, I need to take Keystrokes Design & Marketing to the next level. I have some intermediary goals, but ideally, Keystrokes will be a larger, more diverse company by this time next year.
There you have it. I am going to tag quite a few bloggers - hopefully I don’t duplicate any of Alex’s list. If you are tagged, go check out Alex’s post to get the complete rules!
